Thanks to Ben for alerting me to the fact that the Indian Ridge trail is Closed to mountain bikes. I apologize for the misleading information.
Here's a link to the current iteration of the travel plan. It's a bit cumbersome (being a large .pdf) but fairly clearly tells what trails are legally ridable and which ones are not.

FYI, the Indian Ridge Trail actually *is* closed to bikes now. There aren't any signs indicating this, but the map here shows otherwise:

Sucks....Indian Ridge was a great out-n-back....

Rode Storm Castle yesterday. All ridable with a couple small snow patches till you get almost to the top and it wraps around the the northern aspect. Then it's really snowy.
Well that's too bad. I wonder what irate rancher's complaints about bikes scaring stock led to that?
The loop/shuttle down Indian Ridge from Spanish creek is fun too now that it's all equally illegal.
Anon.-
I'm not sure it had anything to do with ranchers. The Forest Service pretty much closed bike access to trails that go a few miles before hitting Wilderness boundary with no other outlet. For most of them, it's a non-issue, since they were all of a mile or so in non-Wilderness. Indian Ridge is one of the few where it made for a viable ride.
Stay involved, make your voice heard and hopefully we can all play a greater role in decisios like these in the future.
